Yesterday with the launch of Google Drive, the company also announced on its official blog that the Gmail storage space will be increased to 10 GB instead of the currently offered 7.5 GB. When I got the update, it was written that it would take next 24 hours for the update to take place and now my account has been upgraded to 9503 MB ( 9.5 GB )
Google says people will love this little bump, for me its a huge one somewhere around 2.5 GB as I have not used this much space in my Gmail account. What about you friends ? Do share the used space in your account with us. Incase you are still using any other email service its a wise idea to switch to Gmail as early as possible as you will be familiar with the service instead of doing the same later on.
If you are thinking that it would be a hectic task to forward all your emails to the new Gmail service here is a tutorial to import your data from other email providers to Gmail with few clicks. You can also customize the inbox with your own pictures.
Apart from all these the best part is the security available in Gmail which is not provided by any free email service till now. You can check if someone has logged in to your Gmail account, moreover you can also enable 2-step verification in Gmail so that even if someone knows your ID and password they can not sign in to your email account because of the enabled security. Once you activate the feature you get a security code on your mobile device that you need to punch in the browser after you type in the password and I guess these great features make it the superb email provider over any other, isn`t it ?
