Even under normal conditions while installing or uninstalling the AVG software because of sudden restart or shutdown of the computer the installation files can get corrupt.Instead of locating and deleting the registry keys ( newbies should not do this but its a good solution for many problems despite being a lengthy process where removal tools are not available ) its better to use the product removal tool from the developer itself.

Once you download the tool,simply run it to get the screen as shown below
Click yes and then it will start uninstalling the AVG product from your computer.Incase you see the RESTART planned message as shown below,you need to restart the computer to continue the removal process
After the restart you will again see the prompt from the AVG Remover software as shown below.Simply run it again incase you dont get the prompt
Again the removal process will start and you need to wait for few more minutes
